The NIFT 2021 program will be prescribed by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is registered by the Indian government to provide the professional level fashion and technology program to applicants. These candidates seek admission to the NIFT; They can apply for the NIFT entrance exam because, based on the classification of the candidates, they will get admission to the NIFT campuses.

It can offer various courses for candidates, such as undergraduate accessory design, fashion communication, fashion design, knitwear design, leather design, textile design, and garment production, as well as the master’s program in design, fashion management, and fashion technology.

Through this content, the candidates will be able to know the complete information of NIFT, which includes the syllabus, the exam template, the exam centers, etc.

NIFT Syllabus 2021

These candidates take the NIFT entrance exam for admission to the NIFT campuses; they have to prepare for the exam to the best of their ability by choosing the program and candidates must be prepared for the exam. Different programs are offered to applicants, which are detailed below.

GAT FOR B.Design & M.Design

  • Gat – General Ability Test
  • Design – Bachelor Of Design
  • Design – Master Of Design

This test will comprise of various section as given below:

  • Quantitative Ability
  • Communication Ability
  • English Comprehension
  • Analytical Ability
  • General Knowledge & Current Affairs

The number of questions may vary in each section year to year

Quantitative capacity

This subtest is designed to assess the quantitative ability of candidates. The subtest includes questions on addition, multiplication, division, fractions, percent, interest rate, work and homework, ratio and proportion, and distance.

Communication skills

This subtest aims to assess the language skills of candidates in daily communication in English. Includes questions about synonyms, antonyms, words with corresponding meanings, singular, plural, word substitutes, idioms, and sentences, correct spelling, etc.

Comprehension of English

This subtest is to assess one’s ability to understand a given passage situation and a basic English test.

Analytical capacity

This subtest is designed to test the candidate’s inference and logic from the information provided.

General culture and news

This subtest is designed to assess the candidate’s general knowledge and timeliness.

CHAT FOR B.Design and M.Design

CAT – Creative Ability Test

This test is administered to judge the candidate’s ability to intuit, power of observation, innovation in concept development, and design ability. An important aspect of the test is the creative and innovative use of color and illustration skills.

GAT for B.F.Tech, MFM, M.Des. And M.F.Tech

  • Obtain – Test of General Skill
  • Tech – Bachelor of Fashion Technology
  • MFM – Master in Fashion Management
  • – Master of Design
  • Tech – Master in Fashion Technology

This test will consist of several sections as shown below:

  • Quantitative capacity
  • Communication skills and understanding of English.
  • Analytical and logical ability
  • General culture and news
  • Case study

Quantitative capacity

This subtest is designed to assess the quantitative ability of candidates. The subtest includes questions on addition, multiplication, division, fractions, percent, interest rate, work and homework, ratio and proportion, and distance.

Communication skills and understanding of English.

This subtest aims to assess the language skills of candidates in daily communication in English. Includes questions about synonyms, antonyms, words with corresponding meanings, singular, plural, word substitutes, idioms, and sentences, correct spelling, includes a situation from a given passage, etc.

Analytical capacity

This subtest is designed to test the candidate’s inference and logic from the given information and assess the candidate’s ability to identify the logic or reason involved in a particular given problem and apply it to solve the problem. . The concepts and practice of creative and lateral thinking are likely to be helpful.

General culture and news

This subtest is designed to assess the candidate’s general knowledge and timeliness.

Case study

This subtest is based on a situation in an industrial setting. It allows evaluating the candidate’s management capacity.

  • Tech will also have questions from the engineering field.
  • The number of questions may vary in each section and for each course from year to year.
  • The level of difficulty of the questions in all courses will vary.
  • Shortlisted candidates for the written entrance exam must pass a situation test/group discussion (GD) / interview, if applicable (except B.F.Tech).

Situation test

Candidates selected for B. The Written Entrance Examination must pass a situation test which is a practical test to assess the candidate’s driving skills and ability to innovate in a given situation with a given set. of materials.

Group discussions

These candidates are shortlisted for the written entrance exam master’s programs and must undergo group discussions based on a case study (GD) and a personal interview (PI).

GD would include approximately 15-20 minutes of discussion of an assigned case study in which an expert panel will evaluate applicants on the following parameters:

  • Conceptual clarity
  • Knowledge of the assigned subject
  • Contribution to the topic
  • Personal skills
  • Ability to generate new ideas
  • Problem-solving approach
  • Leadership qualities
  • Effective communication

Personal interview

A candidate is judged on the different parameters during an individual interview by a jury, as follows:

  • Professional orientation
  • Field suitability
  • General personal achievements in academic and extracurricular activities
  • the communication
  • General awareness and aptitude, creative and lateral thinking are likely to be helpful

NIFT Exam Pattern

Mode of Exam This exam was conducted in offline mode (pen and paper mode).
Negative Marking There was be no provision of negative marking.
Papers This exam has been divided into two parts GAT (General Ability Test) and CAT (Creative Ability Test).
No. of Questions A total of 150 questions was asked in the GAT test.
Language The GAT question paper was asked in the English language.
Duration The test duration was 2 hours (120 minutes).
