IMU CET 2021 Eligibility

Eligibility for Lateral Entry

Applicants with at least 55% overall score in 3-year Marine / Mechanical / Electrical / Electrical / Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree or 4-year Shipbuilding Engineering degree from any institute approved by AICTE or the State Council for Technical Education and a minimum of 50% English grades on the 10th / 12th grade/diploma exams. The candidate must have completed the degree within the expected duration of 3 years.

  • 1-year Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS) Programme leading to B.Sc (Applied Nautical Science)
  • 3-Year B.Sc (Nautical Science)
  • 3-Year B.Sc (Maritime Science)
  • 4-Year B.Tech (Marine Engineering)
  • 3-Year B.Sc (Ship Building and Repair)
  • 4-Year B.Tech (Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering)

Educational Qualifications

Courses Education Qualification
1-year Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS) Programme leading to B.Sc (Applied Nautical Science)

 

·         10+2/equivalent (PCM – a minimum of 60% aggregate) OR

·         B.Sc (PCM)/ B.Sc (Electronics with Physics as individual subject in one of the years) with a minimum of 60% aggregate OR

·         B.E./B.Tech from IIT or college recognized by AICTE with a minimum of 50% aggregate.

·         English Marks is to be 50% or more in any one of the above examinations. In the case of SC/ST candidates, there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks; however, it will not apply to English Marks.

3-Year B.Sc (Nautical Science) ·         10+2/equivalent (PCM – a minimum of 60% aggregate & English – a minimum of 50%)

·         In the case of SC/ST candidates, there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks; however, it will not apply to English Marks.

3-Year B.Sc (Maritime Science) ·         10+2/equivalent (PCM – a minimum of 60% aggregate & English – a minimum of 50%)

·         In the case of SC/ST candidates, there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks; however, it will not apply to English Marks.

4-Year B.Tech (Marine Engineering) ·         10+2/equivalent (PCM – a minimum of 60% aggregate & English – a minimum of 50%)

·         In the case of SC/ST candidates, there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks; however, it will not apply to English Marks.

4-Year B.Tech (Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering) ·         10+2/equivalent (PCM – a minimum of 60% aggregate & English – a minimum of 50%)

·         In the case of SC/ST candidates, there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks; however, it will not apply to English Marks.

Age Criteria

Applicants’ age on the August 1, 2016 admission date is as follows:

  • The candidate’s age must be at least 17 years old.
  • The candidate’s age must be a maximum of 25 years.

For scheduled caste (SC) and scheduled tribe (ST) applicants, the maximum relaxation age is five (5) years.

2-Year MBA – International Transportation and Logistics Management ·         A bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% aggregate from Recognized Universities. A minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th/12th/UG Degree.

·         In the case of SC/ST candidates, there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks; however, it will not apply to English Marks.

2-Year MBA – Port & Shipping Management
2-Year M.Tech – Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering ·         Graduate Engineering in Mechanical / Civil / Aeronautical / Marine / Naval Architecture or equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate.

·         In the case of SC/ST candidates, there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks.
